What parent does not want some free reading games to install on thei computers so that they young kids can learn how to read and write? I am going to tell you that every parent wants that (yeah, I asked my mother). There are some good options regarding free reading games and I am going to talk about each of them. I hope it will be at least as useful it was for me. 'ABCs - let's get ready to read' is the most outstanding on the free reading games list. It features so many versions that you can play it with your kids in no time. For example, I am a truly geek. I have a Linux based laptop that scares my kid, a PC with, ofcourse, Windows 7 and some random gameplay consoles. Oh, and don't forget the iPad. Well, I can always play games on the PC but I'm trying to maintain it just to be a workstation - I don't want to see games installed on it. It's something I don't want to see when I'm working. So there are only two options remaining. While the gameplay consoles are amazing for complicated and complex video games like Moder Warfare, are not that indicated for flash games or low resolution games. That's why the only things that remain are the Linux base laptop and the iPad. What is really nice is that pn Linux it works directly from the browser and it's really easy to set up. Now my kid not only knows how to read easy words but he's not scared anymore by my geeky notebook. He became 'addicted' to this game and as soon as he wakes up in the morning he wants us to play ABCs with him. The iPad is perfect for this. ABCs is between the free reading games that work just fine on the iPad. And it has a pretty neat voice over to make the game much more interactive for the children. The other great applicaton on my free reading games list is 'It's fun to read'. This game involves the kid in other ways and use at developing kid's skills like the skill to recognize something, teaches him how to make a description for a person, imaginary character or how to describe an object. How? Well, it involves art gallery based levels where your kid have to associate words (adjectives) with images and has an 'about me' section where you have to pick up descriptive words to characterize yourself. So you just need to search for free reading games and you will find them. |
